It is much more difficult for people from third countries (non-EU/EFTA countries) to obtain a work permit. The decisive factor in the assessment is credible proof that the company can have a lasting positive impact on the Swiss labour market. This means the following: If the new company contributes to the diversification of the regional economy, maintains or creates several jobs for locals, if the company makes significant investments and/or generates new orders for the Swiss economy, then the chances are very good that you will be granted a work and residence permit in Switzerland as a third-country national.
Of course, you are free to control the affairs of a Swiss company or branch from abroad. All you need do is appoint a board of directors who are resident in Switzerland. We also support you in recruiting suitable personnel, either from the Swiss labour market or from the EU/EFTA area. If your business activities develop favourably, there is a good chance that you will be granted a short-term residence permit (L permit) valid for one year for yourself or for a delegated employee.
